Ninetails reminds us of our youth - not just because of the Pokémon (never thought we’d mention that on DN), but because of the seriousness with a touch of unexpectancy in their music. It challenges you and keeps you intrigued because of the change in rhythm, melody and instruments all throughout every song - on the contrary it gives you a shot of energy as well, weirdly enough.

We think of some UK “guitar” bands (in the broad meaning of the word) like MONEY, The xx and Foals, yet Ninetails manage to identify themselves without sounding too much like aforementioned bands. The Liverpool four piece release their debut EP Slept And Did Not Sleep later this month via Superstar Destroyer, yet it’s already streaming in full below along with the perfect-fit video for opener Maybe We above.
