Christopher Owens, former frontman and artistic brain behind Girls, has announced the release of his first solo record Lysandre. The album was written shortly after the release of Girls’ Album and derives its name and inspiration from a real-life Lysandre whom Owens met and fell in love with whilst touring with Album. He wrote a letter to The Fader explaining the idea behind every individual song on the record. Below, you can stream the first two tracks of Lysandre: Lysandre’s Theme and Here We Go. There’s an inevitable Girls-feeling to it, but it’s a lot prettier and not as punky as the Girls material. Lysandre is out on January 14 via Turnstile/Fat Possum.
